The City of Love

An ode to the city of love- Verona

Where the youth ages in the spirits of eternity,

Grows in the specter of fondness that never dies,

The aspect of beauty cannot keep its lustrous eyes.

Where the sun kisses the moon in silent strides,

In the embrace of the ocean, the lands walk beside.

Dreaming of the pleasant moon of the early fall,

Where her lover marched over the mountain wall.

In gallant whispers, they remembered the days in the goodness spent,

Remembering their love which is simple, sweet yet eloquent.

Singing to the silver stars,

Writing his name on the crimson bars.

Desires to be with him under the slumber’s light

Under the starry ray, she found her querencia in the somberness of night.

The purity of her love made the gods chime,

The spirit that marked the ephemerality of our times

Out of the symbol of peace and law,

In circles love and duty draw.

She leaned far out of the window’s sill,

A heretic rebel who shunned society’s will.

With anguish and contempt, her steps drew,

Towards her love and her lover too.

The pale men who their love couldn’t see,

Rolled her across the sands of Dee.

A warrior, a lover, a woman in love she was it all,

Hale thee I shouted in a thrall.

I finished the last chapter at a pacing speed all day long,

But was engrossed in the poem from a woman in Love, a Faery’s song.

My dreams scattered in my moist eyes,

To acquaint me with the unknown that lies.

Over my quaint desires and volumes of forgotten chores,

I daydream of someone rapping and knocking gently at my door.

To take me to the land of fallen angels and love is true,

There If I could go to any city I have never been to,

It would be the city of love- Verona

A place where the sun shines its abundance over a starry ray,

Over the yonder and the promises of forever,

In the city of Verona- Love always finds a way.
