The Chatterbox Wife Who Won’t Shut Up

The Chatterbox Wife Who Won’t Shut Up
Oh, Maggie’s mouth’s a motor car,
It vrooms and zooms both near and far.
From sunrise’s peep to midnight’s hush,
Her words just flow, no pause, no blush.
She talks of neighbors, shops, and sales,
Of weather, dogs, and old days tales.
Next door new boyfriend is a odd sight
You listening Joe? Yes luv, Joe, sits tight,
His ears have flown a weary flight.
He rubs his head and rolls his eyes,
Each story’s like a new sunrise.
“Oh Maggie, love, shut up please
A silent minute, just sit with ease
let the air feel quiet, nice and still,
Before my brain rolls down the hill!”
She giggles, scoffs, then starts again,
Another tale — poor Joe looks slain.
And so he sighs, accepts his fate,
The chatterbox wife runs till very late.
