A baby bird falls from it's nest

It sings, and hopes for it's mothers return

Hours pass

No mother bird comes

The baby bird looks weak, and less hopeful

Ants start to gather

Not to help

But to feast

They climb the baby bird like a mountain

Then start to munch at the helpless bird

The bird tweets in pain, but does not seem to do much about it

It seems to realizes no has come, and no one was ever going to come

The bird after hours of fighting for it's life slowly put it's head down

Closed it's eyes

Then finally accepted death

Over the next few days I saw the ants consume everything but the bones

And one day even the bones were gone

All I can think about was how scary life can be

One second you are here, and the next.... gone

But also how beautiful it could be

That birds death fed a colony of ants

That birds remains went back to mother Earth
