The Best Dad George Hurst

Born on the 27th of August, 1919,
A beautiful soul came into our lives,
He was our dad, the one we looked up to,
Loved by his children, Dorothy, John and me.

He was the best dad we could have wished for,
Always there with his love and care,
No matter what life ever threw at us,
We always knew that our dad would be there.

Dorothy, John and I loved him dearly,
More than words could ever explain,
Our dad, George Hurst, gave us his love, and time,
And those precious memories will always remain.

He watched us grow from children to adults,
And I’m sure he was proud of us all,
He gave us the strength to carry on,
And he was there whenever we’d call.

Then came 1988, a year we remember,
The year our beloved dad died,
But losing him never meant losing his memory,
Because we carry his love every day.

So many years have passed since we lost him,
But somehow the love never dies,
Sometimes I think I can still hear his voice,
And see my dear dad before my eyes.

Dorothy, John and I still remember,
The little things that made him our dad,
The laughter, the stories, the memories together,
And all of the good times we had.

If we could have one more day with our father,
What wouldn’t we give for that chance?
To sit down beside him and tell him we love him,
And hold onto that moment again.

Dad, you were special, you were the best dad,
And nothing could ever change that,
You gave us a lifetime of memories to treasure,
And for that we will always be glad.

George Hurst, you will always be our dad,
No matter how many years go by,
Dorothy, John and me will carry you with us,
Until the day we meet again.
