The broken back, the anxious mind and the smell of being stuck in an apartment all day lingers through the room.

Being alone unable to focus, looking at the to do list unable to decide what's most important.

I lay in the bed knowing I should work, but the pain tells me not to get out of bed.

Thirst, I'm so thirsty but to clench it I have to get out of bed. The pain is holding me back.

I scroll on my phone watching video after video about things that doesn't even matter. It doesn't make me happy but at least it distracts me.

I should accomplish more, do more. But I do not.

I have been laying here for 9 hours, it's time. I clench my teeth together as I get out of bed. The pain is almost making me faint.

I go to the kitchen to make dinner, come to think of it, I haven't even had lunch today.

The door finally opens and she comes home, I kiss her and asks how her day was, she says she is tired and sits by the table.

We start eating and my back is getting less and less painful.

but when she asks me how my day was, the pains gets worse as I lie and say "great"

The cycle will repeat tomorrow.
