The Angel in Black

The Alarm

Burning City

I left my heart in Central Cemetery

Packed it tight & lie atop black roses

It would take a hero and a half to get to me

I hope he arrives before the century closes

I was alive once, hopeless human in the bay

Singing to my dark sisters out in the sea

I traded heaven for absence of eternal day

My true future exceeding whatever value in me

In this life, they call me The Angel in Black

I swift each home of the broken-hearted

Give them the feathers to never go back

Leave no worry to finish the love they started

My daughters howl underneath the blue moon

My Amazon warriors watch over for me on the ground

When they see my shadow in the sky swoon

They'll know its time for the siren's sound

Love always,

Chayle
