When I sit down exhausted,
it brings me back to life
Getting carried away
I am now the machine’s wife
As I float above the ground
I have marched like a zombie
from machine to machine
Chasing the next big win
I have morphed into a fiend
I’ve fed the insatiable
withdrawing from accounts
Refusing to admit
just how quickly my debt mounts
When it is all said and done
and I’ve not a dollar
Creating alibis
as I hide in my collar
But the destruction is done
the sun’s finally set
Breaking all that’s broken
just because of that first bet.
