A poem about being forgotten, I think

When you go home, take me with you.

Not as a lonely lover hooked on your arm,

But as a bear stuffed in your breast pocket.

.

Saved for later.

.

Slide me into the yellow train when you board.

Give me a good seat with a fat window

Where I can watch the tunnels fly by.

.

Tucked against your chest.

.

I want to hear the stories of your heartbeat

As the train clatters across the rails.

Will you let me sleep in this noisy silence?

.

Leave me there

.

On the yellow train with its chilly cars

And the endless rhythm of not-there-yet.

Let me fall between the wall and the seats.

.

Watching, terminally.
