Dr. October,

I'm reaching out to see if you can help me

it seems even the weather has grown cold

I've been taking time and talking to myself

and feeling a little lost, as I grow old

The seasons of my life are passing by

and the ups and downs, begin to take their toll

I'm falling like the leaves across the sky

tell me how you keep it all under control

Each telling a story as they learn to fly

trusting the path they follow, without fail

We've an awful lot in common, you and I

as time rolls on, I shed another veil

Sure my life's been great, full of crimson maples

as sweet as apples cut and cleaned for pie

I've loved ones who still gather round my table

I want to leave a legacy before I die

Remind me again that pruning brings the rebirth

in order to live on a few must pass

There's a peace that comes with being one with the earth

each offers something that no one else has

Thank you Dr. for this moment of reflection

that life and death are always intertwined

After the fall there comes a resurrection

and every season has its place and time
