Teenage Dream?

What would I tell teenage me?

Fairy tale endings are never as they seem.

The acne goes away,

But the insecurities don't.

You get out of that small town,

But not for long.

You get that degree and a steady job,

But you still can't pay your bills.

You're still the smartest person in the room,

But nobody is listening.

You fall in love with the boy in the band,

But now every song reminds you of him.

You have two beautiful kids,

But now you're raising them alone.

You get what you asked for,

But is it really what you wanted?
