Tattoos Are Not Created Equal

A Poem in Disguise

I want to lick your tattoos
Perhaps they will disappear
to reveal your beautiful skin
I would only avoid the one
of your good grandmother
dates and Greek word
until

There is so much that I want to lick
in you
especially your words
both in English and Greek
I am sure that I can find them
You never took them back
I remember every one

Memory is never a stranger
It can hide out of space
out of mind
far from the chest
The heart has too much blood
for words
both in English and Greek

I want to lick your centimetres
millimetre
by
millimetre
before they shrink
Pythagoras can measure
what was lost

I asked Athena to stand still
