Taken

Poem

Hello! I don’t think I’ve met you before.

My wings keep on flying, they’re just dirty and sore.

I do want your friendship, but I need something more.

Ignore what’s in my head, I only listen to my core.

I’m taken, I am spoken for.

I’ll leave you holding your broken heart.

Let’s do it on the bed, then move onto the floor.

No such thing as death, we just dearly depart.

Hi! Ya know, I haven’t seen you around.

I could’ve really used you on the days I was down.

If it’s me who hides the body, it will never be found.

My heart is warm and full, and my love knows no bounds.

You can deprive me of air, but I still can not bounce.

Sit still, I only want your affection.

Blood, I need gallons, I can’t live with an ounce.

I won’t know everything, guess it’s for my protection.

Hey! The brain can not feel like a heart when it’s mourning.

It seems like a fairytale ‘cause I write my own story.

If everyone’s alike, yes, the world can get boring.

I’m returning to myself, to my original glory.

I’m taken back, I’m aborting!

I give what I can all-most of the time.

Not smoking-hot, because I’d rather be scorching.

Take me to the clouds, whichever one’s nine.

I’d smile to your face if it tells you I’m fine.

I feel like a tree in the wind, ‘cause I sway.

Used to cry like an infant, now my tear-ducts have dried.

I’ve taken deep breaths until the fear went away.

Like candy from a baby, my heart, it was taken.

As the spirit’s everlasting, be its vessel forsaken.
