A Spenserian Sonnet

Oh what a pleasant day to be alive!

I drank a drop of sunlight from the sky

It lifts my spirits up and makes them thrive

Which makes me light enough that I can fly!

With ease I dodge the hailstones that zip by

I know they cannot hurt me anyway

Because I'll never let them multiply

And take away my shining light today.

Take heart, and know the sun is here to stay

Let darkness nevermore enter your life

Let kindness nevermore be worn away

Because the way of hatred will bear strife.

So never close the curtains when you fall

Take heart, believe, sing out, and you'll stand tall!
