surreal poetry
Surrealist poetry embodies the essence of poetry itself, drawing upon shocking imagery and lyrical incongruities to comment on the inner-workings of the mind.
A Thoughtful Goodbye
All those tears seemed to fade away. All that pain was kept at bay. Then suddenly, you crossed my path one day, I thought I was on a beautiful way. A petal of a rose, you seemed to me, My heart skipped a beat when you smiled at me. Your beautiful eyes were fixed on mine, Who knew it was just a fleeting sign? I didn’t know you’d leave in silence, I thought you were here for a lasting alliance. It turns out you were just a passing guest. Never before had I felt this test. I didn’t realise I was just a moment for you. Thanks for the lesson and the heartache too. May you live a life full of beauty and joy. May you find freedom and dreams to employ. May you soar like a lark in the sky, And now, with a heavy heart, I say goodbye.

Indian Summer. Top Story - October 2024.
For Indigenous People's Day and Columbus Day celebrated simultaneously, kudos to the ancient people who built the magnificent Great Houses we went to see a couple weeks ago in the wilderness of New Mexico. All photos by the author.
