surreal poetry
Surrealist poetry embodies the essence of poetry itself, drawing upon shocking imagery and lyrical incongruities to comment on the inner-workings of the mind.
Away With The Breeze
In the shade of the dayWatching clouds pass and sway Making shapes and shadows on the ground My body begins to relaxas they slowly go past Floating away, with the breeze *Out of the corner of my eyeI see a butterfly float byIt’s beautiful wings flutter and carry it gently with easeDipping up and then down Staying just above ground Floating away on the breeze *Something invisible and sticky brushes my armA small spider is building a webDangling and dancing with ease and delight Drawing dazzling designs with each stepNo lessons were taught to perform such a feat With such precision and delicate strength She must start it again, as it all disappears, in the treesFloating away in the breeze *My worries are manyMy troubles seem deepIn this moment it's easy to seeLike the clouds, butterfly and the small spiders webIf I let go They will all disappear in the breeze
