surreal poetry
Surrealist poetry embodies the essence of poetry itself, drawing upon shocking imagery and lyrical incongruities to comment on the inner-workings of the mind.
Madness
You made me feel like I was crazy Alone, floating away on a cloudKept from the things that could save meFar above me, in this little town*Said, I wasn’t anything you ever wanted me to beI could go, you didn’t need me any longer But you didn’t know the slightest truth, of meYour behavior, only made me grow stronger*No, I may bend, but I won’t break Evolution has become my heroI'm willing to become the change that I needYou’ll be left behind here, at ground zero*When my world was crashing, coming undone, And everything completely unwound Circling thoughts of darkness proved to me, I wasn’t lost, I had finally been found*I’ve learned now, how to grow with the pain Use the beacon to maintain my compassBecoming friendly with the voices I hearCalling somewhere from inside the darkness *Don’t bother looking over your shoulder To stay there would drive me insane You deal with the voices that haunt youIf you hear someone calling your name*It’s madness
