let’s cut it off, shall we?

a poem

embittered by the world

I’m standing here today

to bear witness

how it all happened

when I was accused

that I put them in danger

made them wait too long

in dangerous circumstances

so they exercise their rights

to roar and growl

at the top of their voice

even though I never heard of these things right away

even though I was assigned to talk to them

knowing nothing

yet I had to say something

and they never liked it

leaving me with anxiety

with which I have to deal on my own

I need money but I can’t work more

I can’t be abused like this every night

is the fact that they can’t see me

justifies all the reasons

for being gruff and harpy?

I can’t

I can’t leave it alone

I have a moral obligation, an imperative

to tell it all

when my soul

is destroyed as if it had been bombed during the war

I am always startled when it happens

so let no one be surprised when it ends
