sad poetry
The cathartic nature of poetry makes it one of the best outlets to channel feelings of sadness, emotional turmoil, grief and despair.
Brace for Impact
Hold your breath and try to Numb yourself of him … BRACE FOR IMPACT! crashing into that Stoic Wall of a Man. Into the cold center of his Soul Where you left Your Warmth for him. Your Love. Numb Yourself! Harden Yourself. Turn Away… Quickly! Before his uncertain eyes can lock with yours. Rub the Goosebumps from your arms. And Push that fast rising lump back down quickly. Swallow it! Hard! Before the tears sting your eyes. And your cheeks start to warm… Rather Burn. If they spill over, he will see… Though you long for him to break the arm that he uses to keep you at bay, to keep your heart at bay! As is you were Poison, and your love would Infect him, Maybe end him… Don’t Breathe! As he moves to close, like he wants to be infected, while he Simultaneously, Slices through you with his words. Using his Bitter tone to push your love away, though you can see how he longs for it. For you. As if playing a cruel game of cat and mouse but always switching roles, chasing your love away or pulling it close. Inflicting my pain and his own. This Love… he feels it too…? He feels it too!! Just as much as you… BRACE FOR IMPACT But he won't breathe his love into you. He will let you sting. He will let you burn. And Break. Swallow that lump of pain in your throat. HARDER! You need to Numb Yourself, You need to numb yourself better this time. So you can Breathe Again. After His Impact… Kendra Keesler

Bartender. Top Story - February 2026.
On the heels of grief, pain bears down hard. On the heels of death, pain awakens the quiet place between the end of our own life and now. Feeling anything is like seeing a film and in black and white, slow motion, all sound turned off. Just watching. Gritting teeth, awkward smiles and bloody red eyes move around, scanning the others who are feeling something I don't want to feel, but I do. Escapism is all I have ever known. ~
