Vanishing Haiku
How to disappear. Need to fix my perspective. Washing my soul clean. This is my frontier. And this is my directive. Existing half seen My task is unclear, But I won't be deflective. Stuck here in between. Struggling for years. Yearning for a perspective. Vanishing foreseen. Do I exist here? Am I just irrespective? Will I not still bleed? Now I only sneer As I thank the corrective And remain unseen

Streets Taught Me What School Never Could
No bell rang No teacher stood But every corner Had a lesson The street Didn’t teach me math But I learned What hunger multiplies It didn’t test With paper It tested With pain I knew early That smiles can lie That footsteps behind you Aren’t always friendly School never told me How to bury a friend Or how to walk With no light at the end Streetlights Flickered like hope There, Then not Every block Had a story Every face Held a fight I saw kids Turn ghosts Before they could spell Their own names I saw kindness Die quietly In boys Who once shared bread And I learned That soft hearts Break faster When no one’s watching The street Was a teacher That didn’t care If you passed or survived You don’t graduate

The Mirror Didn’t Break, I Did
I stood in front of it Not to fix my hair Not to smile But to ask who I was The mirror stared Like it always had Cold Quiet Cruel My face didn’t change But my eyes did They didn’t blink They begged I leaned closer And heard nothing But silence Louder than screams Not a single crack Not a single shatter But I Was crumbling Piece By silent piece I disappeared Inside my own reflection Not all breakdowns Make a sound Some just wait For you to notice I smiled once To check If the mirror would lie It didn’t It gave me back What I tried to hide Every scar Every storm It showed me The version I buried Years ago People say “You’re strong” But they never saw Me in that mirror They never saw The tears That didn’t fall But drowned me anyway The mirror stood still But I collapsed Inside myself Without a sound I left the room But not completely Some part of me Still stares back Waiting To be whole again Or at least To break for real

Is This the Horizon of Our Love?
Maybe I've gotten used to not seeing you. In fact, if we can only stay in this stage of missing each other, I probably didn't love you very much. That's because love needs communication, words, understanding, support, and companionship to continue.
