They can break your heart, but they can't break your soul; poetry about lost love that comforts and uplifts.
She Loved the Rain... I Became Her Umbrella
She was the kind of girl who smiled at strangers, danced barefoot in the rain, and spoke poetry through her eyes. I was just a boy sitting three rows behind her, learning to breathe each time she walked into the room. She loved the rain. I hated it. But I started carrying an umbrella, not for me—but for her. Whenever clouds gathered, so did my courage. I'd walk beside her, holding the umbrella quietly above her head, never asking for thanks, never asking for more. And she… she never asked why I always appeared when it rained. Maybe she knew. Maybe she didn’t care. In school corridors, at bus stops, on empty streets—we shared dozens of rainy walks. She talked about everything. I listened like her stories were sacred. I wanted to tell her that I liked the rain too… because it gave me reasons to walk beside her. Years passed. Seasons changed. But she? She fell in love with someone else. I was at her wedding. And it rained that day too. As they said their vows, I stood quietly under the same old umbrella, holding back a storm inside me. I never told her I loved her. But I hope the rain remembers.

I Never Told Her… But Her Name Was In Every Prayer
She was the part of my life that never really belonged to me. She never looked at me the way I wished she would, And I never gathered the courage to say, “I love you.” I stayed close to her, living on the happiness her smile gave me, And every night, I fell asleep drowning in thoughts of her. We were never more than friends on the surface, But inside, my heart was screaming stories she would never hear. I watched from afar as she shared laughter with others, While I silently held onto the hope that maybe one day, she’d see me. I never confessed because I was afraid — afraid of rejection, Afraid that telling her would change everything and leave me with nothing. So, I kept my feelings locked away, hidden behind every word I didn’t say. Then one day, she told me she was getting married — to someone else. My world shattered quietly, the pieces falling without a sound. But I smiled and congratulated her, Because loving her meant wanting her happiness, even if it wasn’t with me. I let her go, with nothing but memories and silent prayers. Because sometimes, love isn’t about possession. Sometimes, it’s about letting go — and hoping that one day, She’ll remember the heart that loved her quietly, from the shadows.
