Gratitude

if it cannot be said. Runner-up in Sensational II Challenge.
perhaps love was in the subtleties, the instinctive phone calls you used to make leaving work, the unison of your voice and the clip-clop of your dainty black heels on pavement making me wish I could take you dancing

Chapstick
I studied a picture of us, the last one we ever took and I tasted blood, the crimson memories of your teeth sinking into my shoulders

Rolling Through the Years
My first was Polo, orange and bold Unfortunately, the finances got too tight Then came the 242, a tank of rank But it died when lent to a friend

Missing My Sister
I miss your laugh, your voice so bright, The way you’d calm my darkest night. In every room, there's now a space, That once was filled by your embrace.

My Soul's Home
In your eyes, I see light shine, A love that says, "You are mine." Through every struggle, you stay near, A bond so strong, there's nothing to fear.

Restful Nest
I feel sun’s touch on my body, smelling fall whispering through trees; I see the mirrors of peaceful water below, tasting the gift of “the best is yet to come.”

A sensory experience
Her Smile dances on the earth's face same as mine Waves hum softly in harmonious lines Hugs I dreaded were warm and Nice Berries linger on my lips, Sour as grapes.

Freedom
Yoked to the wrong human, there aren’t any feelings aside from the cramp of a cold gray cage One mad dash for peace and I hear my own pulse again, as a wind sighing through the rushes by the sea

O dumpster diving how I love thee!
I have seen a glory of treasures trapped in your rusting heart: clothes, legos, plants, tools, even books! I have felt hot slush and cold grit under my boots when I have climbed to be inside you
