A Christmas Forever
Christmas Forever The winter sun dips low, the shadows stretch and fade, Children sent to slumber, dreams of wonder made. With quiet steps, we brought the gifts from hiding places, Your smile, so warm, lit the room, love etched on our faces. The moment you first held the title of Dad, Then Grandpa, with pride—the greatest joy you had. Christmas was your season, your laughter filled the air, With every twinkling light, your happiness laid bare. Morning broke, and tiny feet pattered on the floor, Wide-eyed and giggling, they ran to the tree once more. "Santa's been here!" they'd squeal with delight, Your heart, so full, was the glow in the night. I see you now, in that chair by the fire, Your laughter and love never seemed to tire. That last Christmas—oh, how perfect it seemed, Your granddaughter's giggles like something dreamed. Her first Christmas, your last—we didn’t know, How fleeting time is, how fast it can go. Four days later, the silence rang clear, But your spirit still lingers, especially here. I carry that day in the depth of my soul, Your legacy, your love, still makes me whole. No Christmas compares, no joy feels the same, Yet your memory burns, an eternal flame. If you could see her now, a woman grown and strong, You’d beam with pride; you’d hum your Christmas song. Though you're not here, your love lights my way, And keeps you alive in each holiday. So I sit by the fire, where your laughter once stayed, Replaying those moments, the memories we've made. A Christmas forever, not bound by time, Your love, like the season, an endless rhyme.

Winter's Embrace
In the hush of the evening, where shadows grow long, I wander the paths where my heart feels strong. A chill in the air, a frost on the ground, Each step is a whisper, a soft, muffled sound. Snow falls like whispers, slow and serene, A delicate dance, quiet and clean. It kisses the rooftops, the fences, the trees, It lingers, it rests, like a soft winter's breeze. The glow of the streetlights, diffused and low, Casts halos on footprints wherever I go. Each house holds a story, a life tucked inside, Where warmth meets the cold and memories abide. The world is a canvas of shimmering white, A fleeting perfection beneath the moonlight. I pause and I marvel, my breath in the air, A moment of magic, beyond all compare. Soon there’ll be laughter, and bustling cheer, The clink of the glasses, the close of the year. But for now, in this silence, this peaceful retreat, I savor the solitude, my soul feels complete. The season reminds me of what matters most, Not the gifts, nor the feasts, nor the lavish toast, But the love that surrounds us, so simple, so pure, The bonds that endure when the snow is no more. So I carry this stillness, this calm in my heart, A treasure to keep when the holiday parts. For in the quiet of winter, a truth is unfurled, That peace and love are the gifts of the world.
