Walking in nature sparks inquisitive thoughts
Attempts to make sense of Earth’s spontaneity
While looking for conformity —
Patterns that organize life
Concealed by a kaleidoscope of vegetation
The forest floor absent directional white lines
Paths, warn by life, meander without signs
The architect of creation rejected blueprints
Satisfied to doodle shapely shadows
Permitting designs freedom to sprout
The disorder inspires incoherent thoughts
That cut me loose from expectations
Letting me float like a balloon
Forming an attitude free of should and should haves
Above the chaos that defines me
Above the canopy of trees, I observe life
Differently
The canvas unites all the pieces
Like a jigsaw puzzle
Assembling one spectacular
Scene of unity
Where I once observed anarchy
Resides purpose
Where there were pieces strewn
And missing
I witness the entirely
As it was intended
From the chaos comes order
Our world creates a bruise on my heart
Walking among the trees brings peace
The wilderness unorganized and unkept
In reality, holds everything in its proper place
Untainted by the hands of mankind
Each item serves a purpose
moss, limbs, trees, ferns, mud, sunshine, and rain
Together unite to create peace and unity
Turning the chaos to solace
