Sword By The Door

A Princess Story

By Karen LaRuePublished 2 years ago 1 min read
Forever My Own

I was the princess

Stuck in the tower

Waiting for someone to rescue me

I got bored

So I seduced the guard

Knocked that mother-fucker out

Stole his sword

And fought my own way out of the tower

Yes

I left carnage in my wake

But they had locked me up in a goddamned tower!

I now reside in a humble witch's cottage

That sword beside the door

I am happy and free

To sing and dance

I play with my kittens

Gather my herbs

And brew

To my heart's delight

Free of fear and boredom

I am forever my own
