Sweet Summer Bliss

My favorite time of year had finally arrived,

The five long winter months I did survive.

The beautiful sun light warmed my skin,

The cool refreshing water where I would swim.

However, my favorite parts of summer were always at night,

The snacks I created were a heavenly delight.

I placed my marshmallow at the end of the stick,

The sweet cloud of sugar fluffy and thick.

As I leaned in towards the fire, the excitement would rise,

The yellow, orange, and red flames danced in my eyes.

The white outside turned a light shade of brown,

As I turned the marshmallow around and around.

When it was done, I removed it from the heat,

My mouth watered at the sight of my toasted delicious treat.

I layered the stack of chocolate on the cracker of graham,

And stuffed in the marshmallow like a layer of jam.

My mouth opened wide as I took my first bite,

This was always the end of a perfect summers’ night.
