Gentle sun oozed over the atmosphere like a glazed donut.

His final sunrays were warm like that of freshly baked bread.

It felt as if all the violence in the world had ceased for a moment,

but deep down in the core of earth, she knew better.

The platelets shifted in their slumber and an earthquake shouted.

"Did you have to startle me so?" questioned constant sun.

Moody earth flicked her eyelashes and carried on shelling peas.

"I'm on my period, give me a break will ya!" she barked.

Mother earth and father sun continued sitting on the porch,

in perfect silence...

Quietly understanding, sun shone his light on his darling earth,

and made sure to not open his mouth again for the rest of the day.
