and when I close my eyes
your skin is still cashmere
& two states are one zip code again
and parking lots are stomping grounds
of learning you
and a vacant king bed
becomes
cramped back seats
where I knew I loved you
and you don't let me know
if you feel the same
but my name sounds different
when you say it
and love is such a weak word
& the moon on your face
is incomprehensible
and exactly as you are
is exactly what I need
and your head on my lap is spiritual
and your eyes still the hours
and dull the sounds
and for the first time
I feel peace
in knowing
that it's you
and always was
About the Creator
Daniel K
I write love poems about the girl who has a hold over my heart and my life in such a way that neither are my own anymore. The girl I would choose over and over and over again. I love her, and that is the beginning and end of everything.
