Sun, Sand and Flowers
....breeze we reel
The sun beats down upon the sand,
Tβis the beach where we feel grand,
Salty air fills up our senses,
As we bask in its warmth and brightness.
Seashells scatter on the shore,
As we walk barefoot ever more,
Sand between our toes, we feel,
As we saunter, with the breeze we reel.
The air is sweet with fragrant blooms,
Flowers, in colors, light up our rooms,
Yellow, pink and red in contrast,
As their petals sway, an elegant dance.
Natureβs beauty is all around,
In the sun, sand, and flowers found,
A delight to the senses, each one,
A precious moment in the sun.

Confessions of an Empath
The birds are chirping, and the sun is shining in a cloudless July sky. The vibrancy promises a beautiful day, but the cooing of the Mourning Dove perched on the powerlines seems to be more fitting than the lively songs of the robin flitting through the trees. The melancholic calls of the dove cloak the world in a sadness that hangs like tattered drapes.
