The sun smiles through the windowpane,

excited for me to start the day,

The warm winds ripple through open space,

They give me a warm embrace.

I hear kids playing,

Sandcastles build across the beach,

Teenage models parade in bikinis,

Dark shades on, Living the American dream.

My parents lather each other up in sunscreen,

While my ice cream melts in the blistering heat,

They then urge me to go play with the other kids,

This is what summer means to me.

The birds start singing,

The trees start swaying,

I sit and listen,

To natures playlists.

The smell of roses,

Pass though my nostrils,

I know tis the season,

The sunshine season – Summertime.
