Summer, Somewhere

(Never mind)

By Elsa Michaela | @surfthoughtPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Play me a song that sounds like the breeze in the morning

Never mind that I won’t hear it

Fluted with sorrow over heathered hills and lonely spaces

Be sure I will feel it

Never mind the tears in my eyes again

Sand blown beaches, and empty harbours

I do, I want to come home

Never mind that what is done, is done

The sun remains golden

And each day is hard won

Never mind that I am here

Keep going and I will meet you there

It’s summer, somewhere

About the Creator

Elsa Michaela | @surfthought

When you hear a song

One that stops you in your tracks

That seems spoken from your own mind

Do you listen and listen again?

Follow its streams until a tide,

Inside you

Rushes to fill in the small hollow parts

…Yeah, me too
