The sun sets low and the air turns warm,

A signal for kids to abandon the norm.

Out of their houses, and onto the streets,

The summer nights bring the coolest beats.

Bikes whir by, and balls take flight,

As fireflies flicker, and stars shine bright.

The sound of laughter fills the air,

As childhood memories are made, with love and care.

A game of hide-and-seek, or tag to play,

The hours tick by, until the end of day.

As parents call from porches, to come inside,

We know the magic of these summer nights will forever reside.

In dreams, we'll chase fireflies, and ride bikes,

And the memories of these nights, will forever strike.

We'll remember the joys of playing outside,

And the bonds with friends that we'll always confide.

The summer nights, a time of magic and glee,

A time of youth, that we'll always carry with we.

The warmth of the air, the sound of friends,

A time that never really ends.

So let us cherish these summer nights,

And the memories that will forever take flight.

For they remind us of a simpler time,

And the joys of being young, with life sublime.
