Summer Love

A Perfect Day

Welcome, lengthening hours of daylight

Sunshine, soft-blooming the rose on my cheek

Full-flowered cherry trees, a lovely sight

The perfect location is all we seek

Shaded by fir trees, we dance to slow beats

And dine on fried chicken, melon and chips

We share soft, lingering kisses so sweet

And savor our wine, taking slow deeps sips

Stay ‘til the sun, low on the horizon

Flashes bright, bright as it takes its last peek

And paints the sky with pastel perfection

Night falls. In reverent whispers you speak

Mouth close to my ear, breath warm on my face

Love words so sweet, in our favorite place
