Title: The Threshold of Shadows
Subtitle: A Journey Between Worlds
In the twilight's hush, a boy meets a friend,
Whose guise embodies the whispers of thoughts.
Yearning to dwell in the tranquil embrace,
He whispers of a desire to linger in that realm.
The tormentors, taken aback by his tranquil stance,
Questioned his silence, met with his serene reply:
"This is the final dance of farewells, after all,"
He murmured, as he faced the gathering dusk.
Returning to the hearth of his adopted kin,
Where fairness and misery entwined as usual,
He bore their queries with a tranquil grace,
Echoing softly, "This is the final passage, after all."
Through the passing hours, the refrain persisted,
Until he stood at the threshold of his friend's abode.
His companion's query pierced the gathering gloom,
"Will you not miss those you leave behind?"
As shadows whispered of eternal entrapment,
The memory of a faithful canine pierced his resolve.
Injustice stung, why must the dog linger in memory,
When joy was but a fleeting visitor?
As uncertainty loomed, his friend's voice broke the silence,
"Do you truly seek refuge within my realm?"
With resolve tempered by the light of uncertainty,
The boy softly whispered, "Not yet," and turned away.
With a gaze lingering on the horizon's edge,
His friend posed one final question,
"Will you return, when the shadows lengthen?"
And in the whisper of the wind, he replied,
"Yes, when the threads of time weave me older."
