Sugar High

An Ode To My Mom-Mom

By The Bridge Theory ProjectPublished 4 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

Church was four butterscotch candies long this Sunday

And hot too

I usually place a chocolate coin in the tithes basket for the pastor

But the chocolate coin is more like chocolate paste at this point

And adheres my pocket shut

So I lay flat doing Sunday puzzles

Starmint blazer hanging off of red velvet cloud

I’m not just floating today

I’m sugar high

I look over to see moms in her Sunday best with the yellow chest

My canary, lemon dropped and

Chocolate kissed

Yellow star

Burst-ing pipes

Her melody falls like warm caramel on sweetened ears

And I am sugar high

About the Creator

The Bridge Theory Project

The Bridge is, well, the relational environment in which we experience psychosocial safety or psychosocial strain. And how we adapt to that is a representation to how successfully we develop at every subsequent section of the bridge.
