Sue for Peace

The Perfect Solution

Note: this came out of my own frustrations with the situation in the Middle East and a student's inquiry into my thoughts and feelings about it. I know that all I have is a page and my imagination to launch a pretty weak arrow at a beast that will not go away, but I have to say something...and I have.

*

What to do; what to do.

What to do for peace.

What we can say about it…

Well, we can sue.

*

We can take it to court and sue.

All violence will cease.

All the things that fit

Will be what we will do.

*

And if we can sue

There is no need to police

Ourselves. We can admit

That we know what to do.

*

Yeah, that will do…

But wait: do we release

All our thoughts freely? What benefit

Do we get if they sue?

*

We can put down the words: sue,

Do, cease, police… We say our piece.

Go online; read and do nothing, like a hypocrite,

And say, that’s enough; that will do.

Repeat...

*

Remember humanity - forget the rest. Exactly!

  • And since you have written this, things haven't gotten much if any better. Perhaps if we could get everyone involved in "whirled peas" (like a fidget buster), that would help

Wonderfully written!!! Authentic voice in the mass chaos!!!

  • This is just so tragic and devastating. I will never understand these monsters disguised as humans!

Common sense and decency have nothing to do with political ambition

Said something you have, and said it well. Even weak arrows are effective, if enough are launched.

We are, in this media driven age, bombarded by our impotence.
