I'm a sucker for love songs

and movies set in the rain

Afternoon naps on a soft lawn

summer strolls down a lane

Being witness to alchemy

sweet transformations of love

Hoping one day it will find me

and fit my hand like a glove

To hear you breathe my name

and feel the love linger

Life will never be the same

sealed in gold on my finger

Promises in the past

that have left my heart broken

I am finding at last

truth beyond any words spoken

When the movie is over

and I am cleansed from my tears

Finding a friend and a lover

after all of these years
