Stuck

A Poem

I used to find my way through the cracks

finding the path that fit just right and being able to say

"I made it".

As I sift through the emails of "thank you, but sorry"

I find myself looking a slab of life with no cracks to slip through.

There is no tunnel to find a light in

just nothingness.

Do I retrace my steps to find a new exit?

Or to I lay down in hopes the next life will be kinder than the last?

I wish this life was the kind one

not the perpetual quicksand I keep getting stuck in.
