Conceived in a haze of struggle and hate,
Substance and trauma development delayed.
Taken at birth unconditional love,
Fostered, protected, preserved.
Time passes by, anger, frustration collide,
Waves of emotion, ebb and flow the relentless tide.
Perseverance, strength, empathy,
Light on the path, darkness recedes.
