When mental illness becomes you

I tried to make this into a positive mantra because as a sufferer from bipolar depression, it is difficult to keep positive.

When endless nights turn into depressing days, keep your eyes on the sky

When tomorrow is too far away, remember dark turns into light

When your regrets are many, keep your hopes safe and warm

When death becomes appealing, remember you are bigger than the storm

When the void invites you in, keep your dreams alive

When the abyss attempts to smother you, remember the fire that burns inside

When life gets overwhelming, keep your feet safe on the ground

When fears and anxiety overtake you, remember these nurturing vows

When the past won't stay behind you, keep your future in sight

When your demons won't let you rest, remember you are strong. You will win this time
