Stray Thoughts

Watched through windows

by the Soul

Loping over endless expanse

of momentary constellations.

Howling with divine longing

at ephemeral natures.

Circling one another

in primal feuds of morality.

Catch the scent

of fresh synaptic prey.

Give wild, curious chase

and the thoughts race until

they capture, ravish, consume

irrelevant Eureka.

Ravenous scavengers

of wayward daydreams

Paw through

decayed nostalgia

Gnaw on the bones

of devastated apathy

Stalk through the brambles

and tangled webs of memory

Drink deep

from cybernetic streams.

Guilty will

attempts to tame

these feral perceptions;

to lead them to domesticity

but, in time

relents

and stray thoughts

bay at the windows once more.
