Strawberry Fields

A Short Poem

By Dre ForstPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

Heading out to the strawberry fields where we used to go.

Out in the wind where the grass is pliable and our sun-kissed skin is undeniable.

I laid with a glorious Aries who shared with me a list of her bad tendencies, we talked about the sky and the last guy who she thought she would marry... I hate the people who have ever screwed her over, sitting here talking I came to the conclusion she isn't very sober but for tonight that's going to have to be alright, cause the weight of the world is already heavy on my shoulders and anyway, all I really want to do is hold her.

Lets enjoy our berries and sugar, the agony I feel is so fucking brutal.

Quick escapes to the meadow, we lean up against a big tall willow where I first opened up and told you all about my day dreams of a trigger.

"Sometimes I wish I were dead too," she whispers, mumbling, her mouth full of pillow.

Over the course of a few months I got to know her, whispering secrets, all about laying low

Day by day we got more comfortable, but never will I get too close to you just because I don't want to come off as vulnerable.

Now that I love you, im going to leave you, I just thought you should know

Because strawberries and sugar aren't always on the menu.
