Stepping on Toes

A Sad Love Story

By brooke ziccardiPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

Baby, I love the rain more than the sun,

I think that's why I chose not to run.

Damp, dark rooms empty of all but sadness.

No light to guide our midnight dances.

Our silhouettes slowly sunk into the ground,

as I sat there and waited but couldn't be found.

Baby I'm getting cold and alone over here.

Come find me and get me out my dear.

Dancing the same dance gets tiring,

our rainy days are surely expiring.

Someday I'll feel the warmth once more,

and no longer feel love like a downpour.
