Starman and Me

Mission is on, your time to roll

May I keep a piece of your soul

If it doesn’t belong too much,

to anyone?

Its not the first time I’ve watched

A fated flight, steady as a swan

Across the morning sun,

Suspended

Free of the weight of Worlds

Forging skyward,

Another shore

Where mountains fall

Somewhere a river will make its name

Throw down your claim

Do the passengers look back towards the runway?

Lowered eyes, secrets, and delays

Goodbyes whispered though never exchanged

Draw me a heart on the window

You know I always stay up late

The rain here has turned to snow

Delicate and beautiful

He knows,

the wind will blow alone these months

Nothing to hunt, Doggedly on,

A moonlit path

She leans back, like Starman

On her radio

Hello? hello?

About the Creator

Elsa Michaela | @surfthought

When you hear a song

One that stops you in your tracks

That seems spoken from your own mind

Do you listen and listen again?

Follow its streams until a tide,

Inside you

Rushes to fill in the small hollow parts

…Yeah, me too
