Celebrating Spring!

Unlike Greenday

we sing

Wake Us Up When September Comes!

*

September!

**

Here in Oz

in my family…

September ushers in…

birthdays

holidays

and

Spring!

***

Despite being

a winter baby,

thriving on

chilly mornings

brisk breezes

frosty nights…

even

I

concede…

September

certainly has

her own

allure!

***

She

beckons

the sun!

Persuades

him to

relinquish

his hiding place…

join

in the fun!

****

Flowers, such a bore! galore!

Golden Wattle

Banksia

scarlet Bottlebrush…

wait!

There’s more…

spidery Grevilleas…

such an irresistible

magnet for

cavorting birds,

furry Kangaroo Paws

even Roses, Tulips and more!

A tulip encore

*****

Life

emerges

from his chrysalis.

Tests

his fragile wings.

Takes flight…

****

Mr Sun

obliges,

calms

Ms Breeze

with ease.

She

abandons her

spiteful bite,

becomes

surprisingly

more polite.

***

Frigid

ocean waves

warm up,

open their arms

wide…

so that

each

incoming tide,

once again

becomes

mine, to

ride.

Their sandy beach

a playground

which my holidays

long

to reach.

**

Here comes a wave…

Let’s

not neglect,

nor forget,

the birthdays

and parties abound…

families and friends

whose laughter resounds.

*

So…

let’s hear it for…

September!

Celebrate…

Sensational September

and all

she sends…

we hope she

never ends!

* ** ***

Flowers galore!
