Spring Thaw

Ready for heat

How did we get so icy?

When did we settle for chilly discontent,

Frigid mistrust,

Cold, impersonal communication

(Or the lack thereof?)

🌨

We both felt the freeze,

Yet we were

Unable to move

Our frosty limbs.

❄️

Finally, you came to me.

You cared enough

To break the ice.

You embraced my cold shoulders,

Iniciating a spring thaw.

💧

You warmed me

With kind words,

Sunny smiles,

And gentle touches.

☀️

Ready for heat,

I was thrilled to reciprocate.

We we’re once again

Hot for each other -

Sultry, sweltering, feverish.

🔥

We had survived the winter,

Happily vowing

Warmth

Hereafter
