Spring in Colors and Waves of Feelings
Journal entry from my youth
Perfection in satin, in pink petals. Indulging in
Caresses of blossoms, a painted porcelain wonder.
The sky with shy puffy clouds writes verses
A Budapest story unfolding, awakening senses.
~~~
I wrote this on a napkin on the Danube shore, close to the Petőfi statue at Erzsébet Híd (Elisabeth Bridge).
On that same day I realised that my favourite square in Budapest is Vörösmarty Tér, for its melodies, it’s tiny booths of sweets, for the architectural style (Gerbaud), for its cafés and the lives of all people passing by.
*** This poem and the text were originally a journal entry from April 21, 2010, on my blog.
