Split Ends
And Manicures
Split ends and manicure's
Laundry lists and household chores
Giving up, what once was yours
When your babies wanted more
Long hard days and sleepless nights
school days and bubble baths
Making choices, wrong or right
Making do, with what you had
Some days the days just drug by
the years, flew by like jets
Sometimes memories, will make you cry
Holding thoughts, you can't forget
All grown up, and moved away
Just like it's supposed to go
Remembering how they used to play
And now, you're all alone
Sunny skies and day trips
Hair and nail salons
Moments you spend, quickly slips
Before you know it's gone
Lovely hands and hairdos
Window watch, as they drive away
With promises to return soon
On another sunny day

Sad, and right and good, and sad.
Empty nesting can be hard & lonely, especially when there is no one else with whom to share it.
All the things that sadly are inevitable in life. Loved your poem!
Made me sad because it is so relatable. Aging is not for sissies.
