Spitting Feathers

relentless

incessant

unstoppable

turmoil and trauma

a world designed

to inflame our passion

and shame our fashion

where difference is beauty

and encouraged

until it's not

where freedom of speech

is encouraged

until it's not

if you are too much

you're bad

if you are too little

you're sad

if you are confident

you're inciting

if you are undecided

you're derided

"God loves a trier"

but humans

often throw them

on the funeral pyre.
