Spiral Galaxies
A poem with an unreliable narrator
There is chaos in the world of night.
A certain chaos that sheds a most
Hideous
Light.
The fading red of loved ones now dead
Fill the sickened vision of us locked
In this
Invisible
Prison.
Scream then through the pain
As the blood in your heart stains
The fools glorified
For saving face,
Hiding
In this place.
I remember the shape of you
Pressed against my mouth,
The planes of you
Begging
For stillness.
This creature has been made
From the depths of your own
Desires
You know.
But it isn't just the shape of your
Nightmares and dreams
That I remember
Loving
In vivid detail.
I remember the wet sound
Of your fear as you begged
The universe to give up
Every last one of its
Secrets
For you.
What an arrogant dream!
Commanding the cosmic heart
To dance to your own
Rhythm
And blues.
You are nothing to the arms
Of a galaxy older than thought.
Nothing
Even to me.
