Specialists Have Their Jobs To Do!
Is it necessary for one person to have so many though?
I have a primary physician, and I see more of her nurse practitioner but I'm told they consult. On my last visit, they had overbooked so I saw a different nurse practitioner that works for another doctor that I have seen before when my three people were all on vacation at the same time.
When I complained about having too many specialists, I had two different specialists talk about how important it is for a primary to follow me to make sure I have everyone working well together and all the health care that is needed.
I was told someone needs to manage what the specialists are doing with me and make sure I am current. One asked why I hadn't had my shingles vaccine yet. Another one asked why I hadn't seen an eye doctor recently.
So, I guess with all the doctors I see, I shouldn't have any trouble missing anything ever right? And it is clear that they are reading my chart.
I see two oncologists, a cardiologist, a pulmonologist, a gastroenterologist, a gynecologist, an eye doctor, and this year a foot door for orthotics, and a physical therapist. In addition, I see a dentist twice a year and a chiropractor twice a year. I had to retire to keep my appointments!
My most recent referrals are to have pool therapy, a dietitian, and a cancer psychologist, due to the stress caused by the cancer appointments. And so we get to my cancer appointment today.
Cancer, nonein here
the cancer doc said, it could be there
another time, feel free to see me once a year.
Go out and live your life, there is no need to fear!
You know the drill
no pill!
****
If you have night sweats, bumps,
more tired than usual, or maybe lumps
appearing, then give me a call anytime
I'm not going anywhere! In time
maybe. We all miss the old guy!
I know I do, big sigh.
****
He used to recommend I go shopping
and buy a pair or two of new shoes
that would make my husband hopping
mad at the suggestion and the old doc
knew that it would.
****
He felt it was a good idea and it could
upset the hubby! But what could he say,
I got a good report of no cancer that day!
He couldn't say anything, no way,
Imelda, his nickname for me
No shoes, you have too many you see.
****
Hubby wasn't on the virtual call today.
There is lots of snow he had to plow this Wednesday.
He said, just remember what he says to you.
Any questions you have for him Boo?
No questions, just how are you doing?
I wrote in my note to hubby... Nothing!
****
They are referring me to a psychologist, what a riot,
and a dietician to help me with my cancer diet.
How many years has it been?
I can always talk to a psychologist about the stress
of waiting for my cancer doctor to give me the no-cancer address.

Fantastic social commentary poem!!! Loved it!!! Agree with your line -"had to retire to keep my appointments!."❤️❤️💕 Gave up sugar over five years ago. Now, watching sodium because my friend had health issues because of too much sodium. Do take care, Denise!!!
